Player Manual

How to play in a LoreNPlay campaign: your characters, your campaign page, the live table your DM runs, and rolling dice everyone can see. Screenshots come from a real demo campaign, seen through the eyes of the player Maria.

1.Getting started

As a player you get a focused view of LoreNPlay: your characters, the campaigns you play in, and the live battle maps your DM publishes. No prep screens, no spoilers — just your side of the table.

  1. Create an account at lorenplay.com (Sign up, then confirm the verification email).
  2. Tell your DM your username or email — they assign your character to your account.
  3. Log in: you land on your player home.

2.Your characters

Characters your DM assigned to you appear on your home page. Open one to see the full sheet — the same live sheet your DM sees.

Your character sheet: abilities, skills, spells, inventory in tabs. HP, rests, death saves and inspiration are live — what you change here, your DM sees.

  • Main — abilities, saving throws, skills, senses.
  • Combat — attacks with real modifiers; roll straight from the sheet.
  • Spells — prepared spells and slots; cast and the slot is spent.
  • Inventory — equipment (equipping updates your AC), currency, and the party's shared stash.
  • Features / Bio — class features with uses, and who your character is.
Dice rolled from your sheet during a live session land on the table for everyone — the DM's dice dock and the battle map show your roll with your character's name on it.

Making your own character

Under Characters you can build a character in the same wizard DMs use — class, species, background, abilities, equipment, spells, all validated against the 2024 rules.

  1. Build your character with New character.
  2. Press Share to DM, pick your DM, and add a message.
  3. Your DM sees the request on their dashboard; when they accept, they can link the character into the campaign and assign it back to you.

3.Your campaign page

Each campaign you play in has a page: the story so far, your party, and the campaign lore your DM has chosen to reveal.

The campaign page: the DM's “story so far” recap, the party, and codex entries you're allowed to see — including one shared only with you.

The codex entries here are the campaign's public memory: people you've met, places you've been, quests on the party's plate. If an entry is missing, your DM hasn't revealed it yet — and DM secrets are never shown to players, ever.

4.The live table

When your DM publishes a battle map, Join live table appears on your home and campaign pages. This is the shared board: the same map, tokens, and dice as everyone else, live.

The live table as the player sees it: the published map, tokens with HP bars, the initiative order, and your own character's panel.

  • What you can do is up to the DM — moving your token, opening your sheet, rolling dice, measuring, casting spells are each allowed per map.
  • Move your token by dragging it; the distance readout shows how far in feet.
  • Your sheet during play — open your character panel to spend slots, take damage, or use features without leaving the board.
  • Initiative — the turn tracker shows whose turn it is; your token is highlighted when it's yours.

Dice everyone can see

Rolls made on the live table are synchronized: your DM and every other player watch the same 3D dice fall. Rolls made from your character sheet are forwarded to the table too, labeled with your character's name.

5.Recording your voice (optional)

If your table uses live transcripts, your DM will show you a QR code at the start of the session. Scan it with your phone — the capture page records your voice on your own device and your lines appear in the session transcript under your name.

Nothing to install — it's a web page. Recording stops when you close the page, and only sessions from your DM's campaign can receive your lines.

6.Language, themes & settings

Settings: interface language (English / Greek), theme, and your 3D dice skin — saved on your account, applied everywhere you log in.
