Lore & Play

Terms of Service

Version 1.1 · Effective 28 July 2026

1.Who we are and what this is

These Terms govern your use of Lore & Play at https://lorenplay.com and all related services.

Provider: Kornilios Ampatzis, Thessaloniki 554 38, Greece ("Lore & Play", "we", "us").

By creating an account or using the service you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Lore & Play.

2.Eligibility

You must be at least 15 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm that your parent or guardian is aware of and permits your use of the service.

If you are creating an account on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

3.Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately at support@lorenplay.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

Provide accurate information. Do not impersonate anyone. Do not share your account.

4.Acceptable use

You may not:

  • upload content you do not have the rights to;
  • upload content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, harassing, or sexually explicit involving minors;
  • use the service to harass, threaten, or abuse anyone;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or another user's data;
  • scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell the service;
  • use the service to build a competing product;
  • circumvent usage limits or share paid features with people outside your plan;
  • enable session transcription without informing everyone present.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section, with notice where reasonably possible and without notice where the breach is serious.

5.Your content

5.1 You keep ownership

Everything you create in Lore & Play — campaigns, characters, homebrew, notes, uploaded images and audio — remains yours. We claim no ownership.

5.2 The licence you give us

To operate the service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (only for technical purposes such as resizing and format conversion), transmit and display your content:

  • to you and to users you share it with;
  • to all users, only for content you have chosen to publish.

This licence exists solely to run the service. It ends when you delete the content, except for content others have already copied under §5.3 and for the period backups persist.

We will not sell your content, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.

5.3 Published content

If you publish homebrew or make a character public, other users may view and copy it into their own campaigns. Copies already made remain with those users after you unpublish. Consider this before publishing.

5.4 Your warranties

You confirm that you own or have the rights to everything you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

6.Third-party rules content

Lore & Play includes content licensed from third parties, including the System Reference Document 5.2 (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0) and Daggerheart material (Darrington Press Community Gaming License). Your use of that content is subject to those licences. See our Licences & Attributions page.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast LLC, Critical Role LLC, Darrington Press, or Fandom, Inc.

7.Paid plans

*This section applies once paid plans launch. While Lore & Play is free in beta, only §7.5 applies.*

7.1 Fees. Prices and plan features are shown at /pricing. Prices include VAT where applicable.

7.2 Billing. We do not sell subscriptions and nothing renews automatically. Paid plans are one-off purchases, and any metered costs (such as AI usage beyond what is included) are covered by credit packs you buy in advance. There is therefore no recurring charge to cancel: if you stop using Lore & Play, you are not billed again. You may delete your account, with everything in it, at any time from Settings → Your account, and export your data first from the same screen.

7.3 Right of withdrawal. As a consumer in the EU you have 14 days from purchase to withdraw and receive a full refund.

By starting to use a paid feature within that period, you expressly request that we begin performance immediately, and you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed. We will ask you to confirm this at checkout.

7.4 Price changes. We will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in-app notice before any price change. A change applies only to purchases made after it takes effect — anything you have already bought is unaffected.

7.5 Beta. While in beta, some features — including AI features — are provided free of charge. We may introduce charges with at least 30 days' notice. We will not charge you retrospectively.

8.AI features and their limits

Lore & Play includes AI-powered features: an in-session assistant, DM briefs, transcript search, transcription and image generation.

AI output can be wrong. It may misstate rules, invent facts, mis-transcribe speech, or produce unsuitable images. Do not rely on AI output as an accurate statement of any game's rules. Always check against the source material. You are responsible for what you do with AI output.

Availability. AI features depend on third-party providers and may be unavailable, changed, rate-limited or withdrawn. We do not guarantee any level of AI availability, quality, or output volume.

Your own keys. If you supply your own provider key, that provider's terms govern that processing, you are responsible for their charges, and we are not liable for their service.

9.Service availability and liability

9.1 No uptime guarantee. The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may perform maintenance, and may change or discontinue features.

9.2 Back up your data. We take backups, but you should export anything you cannot afford to lose. An export tool is provided under Settings → Your account.

9.3 Liability. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or breaches of your statutory consumer rights under Greek and EU law.

Subject to that, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in that period, or (b) €100.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data beyond what a reasonable backup would have prevented.

9.4 Your indemnity. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from content you upload or publish in breach of §5.4.

10.Suspension and termination

By you. Delete your account at any time from Settings → Your account. Paid plans run to the end of the paid period unless you exercise a statutory right.

By us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Except in serious cases, we will give notice and a chance to fix the problem.

If we discontinue the service we will give at least 60 days' notice, keep exports available throughout, and refund any prepaid unused period.

On termination your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

11.Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in-app notice, and we will ask you to accept the new version when you next sign in. Continued use after they take effect means acceptance. If you do not accept, you may export your data and delete your account before that date; if you bought a paid plan less than 14 days earlier, §7.3 applies.

12.Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Greek law. The courts of Thessaloniki, Greece have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your own country's courts.

Alternative dispute resolution. You may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr, or contact the Greek Consumer Ombudsman (Συνήγορος του Καταναλωτή, www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr).

13.General

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours to a successor of our business, on notice.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us.
